There is a new area opening up on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park called Mandeville Place. There will be a brand new orchard with apple, pear, plum and cherry trees. It is brand new, so there’s no fruit to pick just yet.
What’s going on?
To celebrate a brand new orchard at Mandeville Place, the Park will be filled with the sounds of a Wassail party (traditional orchard opening ceremony) where you can make as much noise as possible to bring luck and fruitfulness to the new orchard. It is free to go with a fun party of activities for all ages and abilities, the event is a great day out for the whole family.

It’s free to attend.
When is it?
Come along any time between 12noon and 4pm, on Wednesday 27 May 2015.
Where is it?
Mandeville Place is located at the top of the South Park towards the Copper box area.
You’ill know when you are there as there are lots of coloured flags.
What will be there?
There will also be free activities including:
- Apple bobbing
- Theatre performances
- Paralympic sports like Boccia
- Wheelchair Basketball.
