ELBA are looking for beneficiaries from a local school, college or community group to take part in a one-off, half-day event working alongside corporate volunteers from Barclays.
Community Capital: Pitch for Success is a project which will help to empower east London community organisation by giving them access to the knowledge and expertise of the corporate world.
Staff from community organisations will be given valuable one on one time with Barclays employees, enabling the community to receive individual advice and support, capitalising on Barclays professional experience.
This workshop is a pitching and presentation skills session to help improve participants’ ability to communicate what their organisation is and what it does to help secure funding.
Volunteers and beneficiaries are encouraged to network and share their personal and professional experiences. The event will be fully facilitated by Dayna Ambris (ELBA), with interactive workshop activities based around group work and discussion.
What will I get out of the meeting?
People who attend can practice preparing for, and delivering, a short presentation/elevator pitch. How to consider key points for successful pitches that are targeted to the audience. They will be networking opportunity for charities and volunteers as well as potential for ongoing volunteering as a mentor or remote volunteering reviewing draft funding bids/documents. Will help to encourage as much independent thought and interaction as possible, through lively and engaging discussions.
When and where is the meeting?
The meeting will be on Monday 12 October 2015 starting at 3pm and ending about 5pm. Everyone to meet at Barclays 1 Churchill Pl, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HP.
Nearest station is Monument on the District and Central lines as well as the DLR.
