Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Plan

GCNF Neighbourhood Plan

Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Plan has its roots in the Carpenters Community Plan produced in 2013 as a bottom up alternative to Newham Council’s plans to demolish the Carpenters Estate. The Carpenters Community Plan was informed by the views of more than half the estate’s households, in meetings, walkabouts and extensive door to door survey.

London Legacy Development Corporation will hold a six week consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan, during which time people can give their views on our proposals. We will post the link to LLDC’s consultation page as soon we have the details.

Designated area

In 2011/12 legislation gave communities new powers around shaping development in their areas through neighbourhood planning. This led to Carpenters Estate residents reaching out to the wider Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Area of surrounding residents and businesses.

Since the Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Forum and Area were designated in July 2015, we have held monthly meetings, some open day events and carried surveys to fund out the views of local people from across the Neighbourhood area.
